Credit unions are non-profit and exist to help people, not to make a profit. As such, all earnings are returned to their members in the form of high-interest savings and low rate loans.
A volunteer board of directors, elected by the members, governs a credit union. With their vote, each member has a direct impact on the direction of the credit union. Also, "people helping people" is the credit union philosophy.
A credit union's goal is to serve all of their members equally and provide charitable contributions to their community. Credit unions are owned by their members. Each member gets one vote and an equal say in how the credit union is run.
If your employer offers direct deposit, give the payroll department our credit union’s routing number, 291172844, and your account number. If you want the money deposited into your checking account, please use the 14 digit number that is on the bottom of your checks. If you have any questions, please contact the credit union.
Stop by any of our branches to fill out a stop payment form. To be effective, your stop-payment order must precisely identify the check number, date and amount of the item, and the payee. There is a $20 fee associated with placing a stop payment on a check. If your checks were lost or stolen please call the credit union immediately at (906)-228-7080.
Making payments has never been easier! You can now make a payment from your account at another institution to your loan at Embers CU. You will need to know your other financial institution's account/card information for reference.
*There is a convenience fee of $5 per transaction.
